How links work
A link connects together nodes. There are a few simple rules governing links:
- Links always connect the output channel of one node to the input channel of another node.
- Links are directional: images always pass along them from an output to an input.
- Links cannot make a loop, such that the input to a node is an image that it has previously output. So this graph is not allowed (we've added arrows to show the direction of each link - i.e. from output to input):
- But the graph below is OK; the links are merely providing alternative routes between Node 1 and Node 3, and do not form a loop:
Director won't let you make a link that breaks the above rules, and thus ensures you always have a graph that is correct.
